Hi I’m Rob, owner and operator of SellmyCell. 

I started the SellmyCell in 2017 as a way to feed my compulsion/love for electronics repair, a love which started at the age of 10 with fixing old stereo equipment and motorbikes. I later got into mobile phone repair to help pay my way through university and 25 years on I still get a kick out of fixing things that most others would throw away or forget about.

With SellmyCell, my aim is to support a circular economy and make it as easy as possible for people to sell their old phones for a fair price.

Reuse Policy

We aim to reuse 95% of the mobile phones we buy and we work with Zero Waste NZ to recycle the remaining 5%.

Zero Waste NZ employs the best recycling practice currently available. Devices are exported to Japan where they are re-refined to extract precious materials for reuse in the next generation of mobile devices.
